Introduction
In this series explaining how to choose your final project topic, I will now go over the first essential criterion: a clearly defined topic.
Principle
A well-defined topic is the foundation of any successful project. It should be specific, understandable, and supported by clear, realistic, and measurable objectives.
How to evaluate it?
Ask yourself:
– Do I fully understand the problem?
– Are the objectives SMART?
– Can I explain it clearly to someone else?
Examples – GOOD:
✔ Topic: The impact of AI on online recruitment in Algerian companies (2020–2024)
→ Clear, specific, time-bound.
✔ Topic: Comparative study of two image compression algorithms for mobile devices
→ Focused, technical, measurable.
Examples – BAD:
✘ Topic: Artificial intelligence in the world
→ Too broad and vague.
✘ Topic: System analysis
→ Unclear and lacks definition.
